Nota Bene, Spotify's 6M users are probably mostly freebies as Spotify's annual reports cited revenue lesser than a small pizzeria in Sweden. And their model is also subscription based, if not tied to a specific hardware, still a monthly fee.

In the case of Nokia, you get the subscription for 'free' if you buy a phone and after a year you can renew it. The €0.80 per track model is flawed as well. It has worked well with iTunes, but does it work anywhere else? and from a phone discover and pay €0.80, hmmm.. tough.

There is certainly trouble with music. however, streaming music to a device vs storing in the device, the latter has to be the option unless you wanna drain the battery and/or inflict unnecessary bandwidth usage (which can be costly for the carrier given unlimited dataplans). Alternatively, the quality of the music has to be compromised (64k transfer vs 512k-1M).
